Ep.84/ A Males Perspective on Having an Anxious Attachment Style

I have such a fun conversation I want to share with you on a male's perspective with having an anxious attachment style!

A few months ago, I was asked to speak about attachment styles on Jason Berry's podcast “Awaken out of Context.” I loved his transparency and introspection so much that I invited him to come onto my podcast and share his story with having an anxious attachment style, his transition into an avoidant attachment style after heartbreak, and his journey to becoming more secure.

We hear so much about the female experience of having an anxious attachment style. However, little do males outwardly share their challenges with anxious attachment tendencies such as jealousy, insecurity, worry, and overwhelming emotions when it comes to relationships.

In this episode, we talk about:

-A male's perspective on having an anxious attachment style.

-Dating as an anxious attacher.

-The anxious attachments' natural inclination and attraction to people with an avoidant attachment style.

-His experience with shifting from anxious to avoidant attachment after heartbreak.

-How alcohol exacerbated his insecurities as an anxious attachment style.

-How he better navigates his insecurities as someone who aims to be more secure.

Enjoy!
