Ep.65/ How To Measure Your Progress in Developing a Secure Attachment Style

I wanted to debunk a certain misconception many of us have in regards to our progress in developing a secure attachment style. That is, just because we have insecure thoughts does not negate the progress we are making, nor does it push us backward in our healing journey.

Humans have approximately 60,000 thoughts a day, and depending on our life experiences, negative thoughts may sometimes outweigh positive ones.

This is why self-compassion is so important to practice, first and foremost.

What’s more realistic is to measure our progress based on how we respond versus react to our internal experiences.

In this week's podcast episode, I talk about…

-The difference between responding versus reacting.

-Examples of how we can behave differently (and more securely) to our insecurities.

-Why depending on our thoughts is a poor way of measuring our success.

-The importance of re-aligning to our values.
