Ep.82/ How to Communicate with Someone Who Has A Fearful Avoidant Attachment Style

We hear it everywhere—communication is KEY in relationships… And after working with countless couples over the years, communication does play a significant role in creating harmonious relationships; however, I’ve discovered that it goes much deeper than how we speak to each other.
Essentially, communication meets fundamental emotional needs that all humans have. In today's podcast episode, I will share briefly what these emotional needs are, as well as helpful tips on how to communicate effectively to create emotional intimacy—which is the very thing we all innately desire.
What I like to tell my clients when we are talking about communication is that you are learning to speak a different language…Our communication patterns are very much engrained in how we interact with those we love. So when you’re changing your communication to better help others understand you, you are changing your language, your tone, your wording, your intention and your overall approach. Please be patient and compassionate with yourself during this process, as it’ll take time to become fluent in speaking someone else’s language.
